Social Making
October 2024 - Bristol, UK
Social Making is curated by Take A Part. This edition was the fifth biennial symposium called Social Making: Actions for Agency – Generative Practice During Paradigm Shifts at St Anne’s House, Bricks, Bristol.
Social Making aims to bring together artists, curators, community members, commissioners, policy makers, audiences, researchers and anyone with an interest in social practice in the arts.
Saad Eddine Said and David Jubb hosted workshops on citizens' juries and citizens' assemblies. It explored where citizen-led decision-making sits in the context of other forms of participation and engagement and explored some of the key components of citizen-led decision-making including authority gathering and giving, a civic or democratic lottery and a deliberative process.
