Governance Now
November 2024 - London, UK
Governance Now is about cultural governance and is presented by Clore Leadership on behalf of the Cultural Governance Alliance. The conference explored the interventions for change that are needed from cultural organisations and their boards at a time when ‘business as usual’ isn’t enough to see our sector survive and thrive.
It proposed the question: how can boards find bold, imaginative ways to navigate the sector through uncertain and perilous times?
Saad Eddine Said shared a case study of transformation from New Arts Exchange in Hyson Green, Nottingham where the Voice Assembly has become a third pillar of leadership, while David Jubb explored the case for citizen-led governance. Both talked about the need for new statutory frameworks such as those provided by the Charity Commission.
Citizens In Power also published an essay for Governance Now 2024 which can be accessed here.
